CATS Academy Boston is excited to welcome our new and returning students to campus this Fall. Our new students will be joining us from across the USA and around the world.
For our new students, we have some tips to make sure your new adventure with us has the best possible start. Our packing list will help ensure your journey to campus runs smoothly and you have everything you need to make the most of your first semester.

Memories!
A memento of home will be the most important thing you pack. This will look different for everyone. Some people might bring photos of their friends and family, while others might pack a favorite soft toy to accompany them on this international adventure. If you ever feel homesick, you’ll have these to make you smile.
Bedding!
We do not provide bedding (sheets, pillows and so on) for students. It is important that you either bring bedding or arrange a delivery for your arrival date. Information about ordering deliveries to campus can be found in pre-arrival information emails, and was shared in our pre-arrival webinar. Please reach out to Ms Brit or another member of staff for more details.
The important items to bring or arrange delivery of are:
- XL Twin sheets
- Mattress topper
- Pillows
- Comforter / Duvet
- Blanket / Bedspread
Everything can be purchased in the local area (or ordered) so please don’t worry if you forget something. You will easily be able to find something suitable.
Pack Your Favorite Clothes!
We know it is tempting to pack every clothing item you own so you are covered for any possible situation. However, the best thing to think about is the local weather and any specific events coming up during the semester. You will be arriving to warm weather but the temperature drops from late September onwards. Packing your favorite sweaters is a good idea. We also have some school dances so you might want to include a formal dress or a suit too.
Don’t forget that our campus is located close to Boston. Anything that you forget to pack or discover you need on arrival can easily be purchased at the nearby mall or within Boston.
More Power to You!
Whatever you do, don’t forget your chargers. You’ll need them to power up your phone, laptop and any other electronics you plan on bringing with you. If you are travelling from overseas, a US plug adaptor is something you’ll need to bring with you too. Sockets in the US may be different from your home country.
Signature Scents!
Don’t forget your toiletries bag. Moving abroad means you might not be able to get your favorite cosmetics or perfumes as easily as you can at home. Have a look and check if your favorite products are on sale in the UK or if you need to pack extra.

By doing this, we know that on graduation you will leave us with heaps of happy memories and built friendships for life.
